Photometrica (www.photometrica.org) is an excellent
online tool for doing photometric
analysis of FITS image data. You can upload your FITS data to your Photometrica FTP directory,
which is created and given to you by an administrator at Photometrica.
In the near future Photometrica.org will be handed over and administered by the American
Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO).
When this happens you may need to join the AAVSO and/or apply for a new Photometrica username/password.
SSON and the people who created Photometrica worked together to enable SSON customers
to have their SSON data sent directly to their Photometrica account directory.
You can select to have your SSON scheduled images sent directly to your Photmetrica
account for online photometric processing. Doing so is easy to do using the following procedure:
-
If you do not already have a Photometrica account, you must send an email message to
Geir Klingenberg (geir@photometrica.org)
and ask him to setup a Photometrica account and username to use for SSON data.
-
At the bottom of the SUBMIT JOB section of the Observation Request Form there is a new
check box you can click on and check to have your SSON data automatically sent to your Photometrica account.
Click the check box and enter your Photometrica username in the field to the right of the check box.
-
Submit your SSON schedule by clicking the Submit Schedule button to enter your jobs
in the SSON observing queue.
-
When your SSON jobs are processed at the end of the observing run, your FITS files are transferred to your
SSON FTP directory where you can download them. In addition, your files will also be
transferred to your Photometrica account for you to process with Photometrica.
